Friendship Force International ,headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, was found by Wayne Smith in 1977,in Atlanta, with the support and endorsement of President Jimmy Carter. Since then The Friendship Force has involved more than half a million volunteers.
FFI brings people of the world together through home stay exchanges-creating unforgettable experiences that built lasting bonds of friendship. Ambassadors and Hosts, from more than 60 countries, in international home stays. A Friendship Force Ambassador lives in a Host’s home, taking part in family and community life. Ambassador and Host might not speak the same language nor share similar backgrounds, yet the power of friendship overcomes the differences. The private, non-profit organization dedicated to the principle that each person can make a contribution to global goodwill. Home hospitality-the heart of a Friendship Force exchange-provides the opportunity for people of different countries and cultures to connect at a personal level.. Sightseeing activities are included in many exchanges, yet the primary goal is always mutual understanding and friendship.

On 27,2006 “The International Friendship Force club” Public Society was registered as NGO by Ministry of Justice in Azerbaijan. The License for the club opening was given by Headquarters of Atlanta ,Georgia, USA on January 19,2007 The first outbound exchange took place on 1-13 March,2007,when Ambassadors of Baku club visited Atlanta-Knoxville-Memphis.
